Breakfast was delicious, and sitting by the lake to eat it made each morning especially lovely. The staff were attentive and friendly the whole time, and the room was roomy, comfortable, clean, and beautifully furnished with a wonderful lake view. Kankarwa Haveli is a traditional property right in the old city, with stunning views of Lake Pichola and the Lake Palace. Its position made it easy to walk to Udaipur's main attractions while still enjoying quiet views and Rajasthani architecture. We couldn't find anything to fault and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Highly recommended for a visit to Udaipur.

I loved how peaceful and beautiful the place felt, and the view was outstanding. The architecture and decor are carefully put together in every detail, so it really feels like staying in a heritage property. We were upgraded to a room with a private terrace, which I loved. There was no air conditioning in the room. I personally didn't mind, but it's worth mentioning. I'd definitely come back if I visit Udaipur again.

The views are stunning, and breakfast came with a great little show from the flying visitors. Each morning we watched two hawks dart among the pigeons and settle on a neighboring rooftop. At sunset, flying fox bats moved along the lake. The rooms in this historic haveli are authentically preserved, and it's hard to beat the price.

The location is good, and you can walk to places around the old town, but I was somewhat disappointed with the Haveli. Maybe it was the off season, but it took three tries before I got a room where the A/C worked. The stairs to the restaurant are narrow, with about 14-15 steps, and have no handrails, which felt like a safety hazard. The other areas did have rails.

The reception staff were taking calls while driving, yet wouldn't answer questions or even let me finish speaking when I called to ask whether a room was available. The service was extremely rude. I wouldn't give even one star for that behavior. There was no basic courtesy and no understanding of hospitality.
