Madri Haveli

I liked the location and the service most. The staff were polite and very helpful, and our room was clean. Since breakfast wasn’t part of our booking and we ate out, I can’t speak to the hotel’s food. There is a rooftop restaurant with an incredible view. The rooms are comfortable, but they aren’t large, which is something to keep in mind when booking if you want lots of space. It’s a historic building.

The location made it easy to walk to many Udaipur attractions, and the upstairs restaurant looks out over the city and its lakes. I stayed four nights and found the staff courteous, quick to respond, and willing to go above and beyond. Housekeeping kept the restored Haveli clean and well maintained. Stained glass, traditional artefacts, and distinctive doors give the place a beautiful feel. For the price, the service and room quality exceeded my expectations. I’d gladly return.

The old town location puts everything within a short walk, though there’s traffic, the call to prayer, and barking dogs, so bring earplugs. We spent six comfortable nights here. The haveli is stylish and beautifully renovated, and the restaurant’s meals were tasty, with Indian and continental breakfast choices. Staff helped with things like exchanging money and arranging transport. There’s also a small pool at the sister haveli around the corner, plus a badminton court and boules pitch next door.
