Hotel Icon is a clean, tidy budget hotel with spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, comfortable linen, and helpful, polite staff. It’s in a prime spot, at a good distance from tourist places, the railway station, and bus stand. The location and price are strong points, and the service and rooms are satisfactory. Food was described as good quality and reasonably priced, and the hotel provides what it promises. Some guests found it good value for families or solo travelers, and said they’d stay again. It’s an OYO property. There’s no restaurant on site, though outside or nearby places can arrange restaurant service. One guest liked that a good mall across the road made grocery shopping easy. A mirror was missing from the room, with only a small one in the washroom. The manager was cooperative, and one guest found the rooms, bathrooms, location, and comfort worthy of five stars. There were also serious complaints about the day and night staff, who were described as rude, arrogant, and bossy. One guest said staff were watching a movie on a mobile phone instead of welcoming them properly, and that three people checking in at 19:30 had to ask for extra towels, toiletries, and a water bottle. The hotel had no spare towels or toiletries kits. Despite praising the budget price, location, linen, and large rooms, that guest felt poorly treated as a Gold customer at a Premium OYO property, called the stay just okay, and asked the owner to change the staff team.

The room, bathroom, location, and comfort all get five stars from me, but the staff only get one. Room 201 and 202 were good, and for the budget price the location, comfortable linen, and massive rooms make this an okay stay. Still, I’d ask the owner to replace the staff team. Both day and night staff came across as horrible, bossy, rude, and arrogant. They need training in welcoming guests and making them comfortable. At check-in at 19:30, our group of three had to ask for extra towels, a toiletries kit, and a water bottle. The hotel didn’t have extra towels or kits at all. One staff member was busy watching a movie on a mobile phone instead of welcoming us properly. I’d recommend the property for the price, rooms, and location, but don’t expect much from the staff. As Gold customers at a Premium OYO property, we didn’t like being treated badly.

The rooms are roomy and the bathrooms are nice, and the staff were courteous and honest. We booked through OYO and got complimentary breakfast on the first morning, but not on the second. I have no idea why. That was the only issue we had; otherwise everything was fine.

There isn’t hotel parking, though there’s plenty of shared parking space in front, and a good mall across the road for groceries. The hotel itself is just okay, with few amenities and rooms that aren’t to a particularly high standard. Most of the bathroom water sprays kept leaking. One nice point was that there was hot water at the basin. Breakfast was limited.

The hotel is very cheap, and the service was good. I got two complimentary bottles of water, the AC worked fine, and there was hot water for bathing. Breakfast was included, free, and very tasty. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re visiting Udaipur for sightseeing, since it’s a bit far from the tourist attractions. Thanks.
