Manu and his lovely wife are welcoming hosts who care about the guest experience. Their beautiful guesthouse is in a relatively quiet spot, a short 5 minute walk from the busy shopping area around the ghats. From the patio restaurant at the top, which sits higher than most buildings nearby, you get grand views of the city palace and the lake below. The comfortable rooms suit the heritage building's style. Watching sunset and meditating on the cushioned balcony is a must. Staying here might make you want to spend longer in Udaipur.

The steep stairs and top floors could be hard for elderly people or anyone with joint pains, and getting up them isn't always easy. For others, though, it can be an unusual experience. I had a memorable stay at Peacock guest house. My room was beautiful and comfortable, and the joint balcony was beyond words. There were two rooms and a shared balcony on my floor. Luckily, the room next door wasn't occupied by any improper guest, so I could enjoy a pleasant stay. I especially want to mention Rohitashya, or Roshi for short. He's a wonderful host, attentive and helpful without interfering. Thanks to the whole family for guiding him so well.

The city and lake views are beautiful, and the restaurant has a lovely feel to it. We had comfortable rooms, tasty food, and a warm welcome from the staff, whose hospitality really stood out. There’s no lift, so that could be an issue for some guests. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay. Great for a quiet, scenic break.

Mr. Rohit was a great host, and the staff were very good. Our clean, well-kept room had a lovely view, and the location made getting around easy. Breakfast was fine, though it didn't quite match the hype. We had a comfortable stay.

The host was genuinely welcoming, and the view is the main draw. We enjoyed the food too. The room amenities didn't impress us much, so the price felt a little high for what the room offered. Booking online also seemed to add extra charges, so I'd suggest arranging it directly with the host. If you want a room with a private balcony and a beautiful view, this could be just right.
