We spent three nights here and had no trouble fitting in visits around Udaipur. The City Palace is only around 4-5 km away. What we liked most was the quiet, offbeat setting, with a historical feel, even though this isn’t a polished luxury hotel. Our rooms looked toward the lake on one side and the jungle on the other, where you might spot deer if you’re lucky. The property is away from the city rush and changed what I expected from a lake view. There’s plenty of parking, plus horse riding, a pool, boat rides and shooting at reasonable prices. The restaurant faces the lake and gardens, with views of sunrise and sunset over Aravalis. For a candlelight dinner, we preferred a table by the lake over trying to book somewhere crowded at Lake Pichola. It’s a lovely quiet retreat for families, and the staff were incredibly polite. Great value for a heritage stay.

Nature, peace and a chance to relax, Shikarbadi has that combination down. We always have the best time here and would recommend it to everyone. Pankaj ji and Manohar ji cooked amazing food, and Jayendra Singh Gourd ji made our trip memorable with 10/10 hospitality. Thank you!

We stayed in the family room, and it was one of our best experiences. The staff were kind and courteous, especially Jayendra Singh Gour. The restaurant beside the lake made the nice food feel even more magical. With its picturesque views and peaceful, nature filled setting, Shikarbadi was a highlight of our time in Udaipur. I’d love to come back.

The staff were nice, but with weddings being held at the hotel, it got very noisy. I couldn’t sleep until 11:00 a.m.

The rooms have an old design, though that seems to be part of the property’s character. It’s a heritage place with good food and a lake, but birds nearby can sometimes make it hard to sleep at night. The pool is too small for activities. It takes an hour to get here from the airport, and there isn’t a shop or market within walking distance.
