The August by Shambhala Hospitality

I stayed for two nights, and the experience was mixed. The ambience felt royal, the rooms were well maintained, and the food was amazing. The restaurant team were humble and well trained. But service was slow: I waited at least 15 minutes for the buggy, then had to walk down to reception. The spa at araya in Aurika Udaipur was a really bad experience. During our couple spa, both masseuses giggled, which made us uncomfortable. My wife asked one to be gentle with her hair, but she ignored the request and carried on. There’s only one restaurant, and I got bored eating at the same place again and again.

The cultural programme, with dance and music, was beautiful and added so much charm. Food, shuttle service, cleanliness, and ambience were all top tier. We stayed in Room 1046 (Deluxe), and the view was unreal, especially for the price. The staff were welcoming, helpful, and fluent in English and Hindi. Everything about Aurika Hotel Udaipur was outstanding. We also saw a staff member who was deaf/disabled, and it felt great to see the hotel give jobs and opportunities to people with disabilities. That says a lot about its values. The negative comments don't match what we experienced. Don't waste time looking elsewhere, just stay here. Aurika brings luxury, heart, and culture together. A great, great, great experience.

Getting Ubers from Aurika into the old town was difficult. We tried several, and even after accepting, drivers called to negotiate and raised the price. Next time I’d either stay closer to the city and come to Aurika to relax, or book a driver for the day. The stay itself was beautiful and relaxing: the room was fantastic and comfortable, the hotel was peaceful and quiet, the water pressure was great, and room service was delicious. The pool didn't seem temperature controlled, so the water was pretty cold in winter. Please visit know ☝️😊🥰

We had a pleasant stay in February 2026. The property is well laid out, has strong infrastructure, and the ambience and vibes were good. A few things stood out: the in-room fruit platter fell below the standard I'd expect at this luxury price, and restaurant choices were limited. Breakfast on both days was bland and low on taste, so we didn't enjoy it. The buffet dinner we had once, though, was excellent. Those irritants don't affect my rating.
