Trident, Udaipur

Room service was prompt, and we ordered in several times. The food arrived piping hot, looked lovely, and tasted incredible. We also had a smooth early check-in and a beautiful garden view from our room. The staff’s warmth and attention to detail made the stay at Trident Udaipur feel flawless. A peaceful retreat with wonderful service in Udaipur.

Coming back late one night, we were surprised to find the room not only spotless but our clothes folded and neatly put away. My husband and I were speechless at such an unexpected, thoughtful touch. The room had also been decorated with roses and balloons, and we were treated to a gorgeous cheese platter and cake, both delicious and beautifully presented. From our airport pickup onward, the stay felt effortless and comfortable, with a quiet kind of luxury. The rooms were breathtaking, and the gardens felt magical, especially with peacocks wandering through. New Year’s Eve was unforgettable, from the atmosphere to the food and service at the Gala dinner party. Everyone we met was warm, friendly, and knowledgeable about the food, service, location, and guest experience. I’ve worked in hotels all my life, and I can confidently say Trident Udaipur’s standards and service are second to none. The General Manager should be proud of this extraordinary team. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of us. We’ll remember this stay forever.

The property is beautiful, with striking architecture and well-kept grounds that capture Udaipur’s character. I stayed two nights, from February 19th to 21st, but a communication mix-up meant we missed the Lake Pichola boat ride we’d been looking forward to. On the evening of the 19th, I asked about activities and heard that rides were unavailable on the 19th and 20th, but one spot was open on the 21st. The receptionist suggested I confirm at the desk the next morning. The manager on duty then assured me we were booked for 9 am on the 21st. Since no confirmation email arrived, I checked again that evening and learned there was no reservation under my name. We still had no confirmation the next morning and never got the ride. Staff called it a miscommunication and offered a complimentary 20-minute ride as compensation. I appreciated the gesture, but it was disappointing since we don’t visit India often. I’d advise future guests to book activities well ahead and get an email confirmation, because a verbal confirmation may not be enough.

The gardens were an absolute treat, and the property is extremely pretty. We had an Aravalli view room, though it looked more onto the garden. Breakfast was extensive and yummy. Staff greeted us warmly with a welcome drink at check-in and were prompt and helpful. The rooms had luxurious linens and were well appointed. The shower was okay, but could use an upgrade.
