Hotel Swadesh Heritage

The room was pretty good, and there was parking outside. We stayed two nights and found the location very convenient. Staff service was amazing, too. A surprise: drinks here cost much less than the food.

The food at the vegetarian and non-vegetarian restaurant was good, especially the South Indian options, and room service was prompt. Staff were polite and helpful. Rooms are a decent size for a short visit, with basic amenities at a reasonable price. Some upkeep could be better: a few rooms need cleaner conditions and more ventilation, and the bathrooms could be more hygienic. Parking gets limited at busy times. The hotel is in central Udupi, close to Sri Krishna Temple and the main bus stand, so it’s convenient for travelers and pilgrims looking for a budget stay near the city.

The room was really small, and they charged 53 rs for two bottles. They didn’t provide basic things like a dental kit, shampoo, body wash, tea, or coffee, and there was only one bottle.

Food tasted poor, and they charged 2000 for six hours in an AC room, which felt unworthy of a place like this. It’s a bar attached hotel with poor hygiene. Please don’t book it for a family.
