Hotel Udupi Inn, Udupi

They told us that customers who book online should be handled differently from those who book offline. Between that and the lack of proper room service, the staff experience was unacceptable. They didn’t provide a dental kit or bath kit, and the towels were awful. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. My suggestion is to avoid this hotel.

The AC worked well and the bed was comfortable, but the room could have been kept better: there were grains of mud on the floor and the bathroom soap dispenser was empty. Service felt average for the price. Udupi inn is right at the bus stand, and the staff were helpful and courteous. The temple is about a ten-minute walk away, but the route follows a busy main road, so it isn’t friendly for older people or kids. There are no food options here, so you have to find somewhere nearby. For me, having to walk out for morning filter coffee was a big drawback.

Right next to udupi bus stand, so rickshaws, buses, and taxis are easy to get. The rooms were clean and there was warm water all day. You get what you pay for.

The rooms and service were very good, and they honored the reduced online deal. Getting to the hotel entrance is a garish nightmare, but once you figure out there’s underground parking, it’s a breeze.
