[Edit] Reply to Owner’s comment: Sorry for expecting access to water. I didn’t realize that was a luxury. We came back from Yamunotri Darshan after a demanding trek and incredibly frustrating traffic congestion. We had already gone two days without food, brushing our teeth, showering, and so on, because we were trying not to miss the rest of our Char Dham Yatra schedule. Then we returned to our rooms and found there was no water at all. Even the toilets couldn’t be flushed. We checked out still without water, extremely disappointed. Brothers Vijay and Ajay, who run the hotel, weren’t there. Apparently they have Apple Orchids that needed them. Their father didn’t know much about how to sort out the water problem. There was also a safety issue with the stairs to the rooms: plaster had come off some steps, making them risky to walk down, and a fall could be fatal. They had taken the food contract from our tour agency despite not having a proper kitchen. Our group of 14 arrived late, around 1am. I’m giving one extra star, for a total of 2, because someone was there to help us check in at that hour. But there wasn’t proper seating for 10 people, and five of us had to wait until 1am for dinner because they only had nine plates.
