We traveled from Trivandrum for a function in Vadakara, and my husband and I had booked a non-AC room just to freshen up. We paid an advance, then our plans changed and we canceled only two hours after booking. I let the hotel know straight away. After that, getting any response was the problem. Our calls were ignored, and whenever we reached reception, we were told the manager wasn’t available. We followed up several times over three days without getting a clear answer or resolution. Even if they don’t offer refunds, they should explain that clearly and respectfully. Instead we were left feeling ignored. The customer service was very disappointing and unprofessional, so I wouldn’t recommend Queens Tourist Home, Vadakara.

The management seemed to have no control over things. The rooms were filthy and infested with pests, and people were vomiting near the entrance after coming from the bar. The AC and everything else looked decades old, with no maintenance or cleaning. One of the worst places I’ve stayed.

The food was really good, but I ended up with a bad waiter when I went for the bar-attached facility. The room was large and clean enough, though old. Outside, the road was very narrow, and with the crowd it was hard to find a parking spot.

The top floor has a relaxed, cozy feel that works well for unwinding after a day in town or having a drink with friends. The bar itself is simple, and the staff are friendly, pours come quickly, and it’s good value. The location suits a casual evening, and bar service is faster than at most spots in Vadakara. The rooftop is a nice touch for groups. A solid pick for locals or travelers, with staff who remember regulars and an easygoing atmosphere.

The rooms and service were really good, and the front office assistant was especially kind and sweet. I’d expected just a bar, so I was surprised to find such a luxurious room at an affordable price. Had a great day at Queen's tourist home. All the best.
