It used to be a clean place with a friendly family hosting, but that’s no longer the case. The room was dirty, and apart from the nice cleaning boy, the staff were no help. Sorry, I won’t be coming back.

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times. It’s a hidden gem for the money, with a comfortable stay and all the party places nearby.
The owner is genuinely helpful and a good person, and the place has a homely feel. It’s in a peaceful residential area with easy access around north Goa. The rooms are small, but they do the job if you’re there from evening to morning and out visiting places during the day. A single room suits a couple and, at most, one small child or two; an extra mattress is available. Breakfast choices are limited but tasty and homely. You can ask for lunch or dinner too. Those meals are simple, healthy, hygienic, and filling, more like home cooking than restaurant food. That suited us, especially on vacation when you don’t want to get sick from heavy or unhygienic food. Clean towels are provided, but don’t expect toiletries. All in all, a good, satisfactory stay.
We had a lovely, hassle-free stay on a quieter road just off the main strip. The family were very helpful and arranged a taxi for our onward trip. Our AC worked great, which was a relief in the heat, and we were lucky enough to get a corner room with two balconies. One had a table and chair, so we could eat takeaway there when we didn’t feel like going to the restaurant.
What brought us back to JMD Villa was the family’s hospitality during our 21-day stay in 2021. The host helped us both times with bike rentals, restaurant suggestions, and finding money exchangers. His wife’s homemade food is great too, especially the Aloo Parata. They’re an exceptionally friendly family and made the stay feel lovely. We returned from December 27 to January 1, 2023, and it was lovely again. It’s good value, well maintained, and the small rooms are comfortable. We asked for the same room because of its large outside-facing balcony, and noticed upgrades since our previous stay in India. The WiFi was reliable, and the location is excellent, within walking distance of the Sunburn venue, other parties, popular eateries, and the beach.
