The Belmonte by ACE

The staff were good, and the rooms were spacious, but it wasn't worth the cost for my three-night stay. I was on the second floor, with no lift. Breakfast choices were very limited. Wi-Fi was extremely slow, and mobile reception was poor. The place is a bit far from the main road, and there is no parking, so you have to leave your car on the road. The roads to the hotel aren't great either.

We were on a romantic vacation, and this was just right. The rooms are big and beautiful, the food is good, and the staff are helpful. We stayed on the ground floor, where opening the French doors takes you straight to the pool. Loved the hotel's ambience. Thanks, Belmonte, for making our vacation memorable 😍

The property is quiet, tucked among residential villas, and the breakfast was great, with a different menu each day. It could have had more options for non-veg guests. I stayed a week in a Luxury Suite, which was spacious and air conditioned, with a TV, fridge, and a small kitchen space, but no microwave. The pool is small, despite looking bigger in the photos. The in-house restaurant is overpriced for food that's just okay. Calangute Beach is at least 8 kms away, so this isn't the place if you want a hotel opening onto the beach. Wi-Fi was terrible during our stay. The reception guy said it was a technical problem and that it is usually good. The door uses a regular key and lock, not a card. Still, it's a good place to relax, and the beach distance isn't an issue if you rent a bike.

The rooms and service staff were fine, nothing exceptional or bad. The big frustration was the transfers. Our package included hotel transport, and shared transfers to save money are understandable, but they grouped flights landing or departing 3 to 4 hours apart. With our family of ten, including two infants, we waited at the airport for over two hours. On the return, they dropped us off three hours before our flight. The hotel is in a village with nothing nearby, so a rented vehicle is a must. The generator seems to have been placed right beside the eating area, which has very little seating, and very close to the pool. You'll get plenty of city pollution during buffet and swimming time.
