You can see the sea from the room, and the balconies face it too. The hotel’s location is good, and the staff were helpful and polite. There’s parking onsite for around 4-5 cars, though more than that could be a problem. There’s no lift, restaurant, or breakfast. I found the room and bathroom a bit uncomfortable, either because they weren’t very clean or because I expected more. It could suit solo travelers and backpackers well, but families may find better options nearby.

We spent two nights at Sun Fun Beach House, in a ground-floor room with a view of the beach. For a broader, higher-up view, I’d pick a top-floor room. It’s close to payyambalam Beach, the city, the museum, and st. Angelo fort, so getting around was easy. Our compact room had what we needed: AC, Wifi, good lighting, a clean washroom with hot water, towels, and handwash soap. Bring your own toothpaste and shampoo. Breakfast was included on both days. We had poori baji with tea or coffee on the first day. On the day we checked out early, around 8 am, the staff kindly made us bread omelette and black coffee when we asked for an early breakfast. A comfortable place with kind staff and a handy location for a peaceful stay by the beach.

My train was delayed on the last day, so they offered me a room where I could wait and arranged a scooter for me as well. Shinto, Kishor, and the rest of the team were genuinely kind and helpful. The room was nice, and I’d come back.

The room was tidy and comfortable enough to spend the whole hot day in, and all the facilities worked. They provided towels, hot water, drinking water, a dental kit, a kettle with tea and coffee, a fridge, and AC. We were on the ground floor, so our sea view was limited. The upper floors have a wider view, and booking ahead would be better if that matters to you. We did enjoy a yoga session on the upper terrace as a nice alternative. At night you can hear the waves. The staff were lovely. They even wished us happy birthday and prepared a cake. The laundry service was terrific too, very professional and high quality. They packed the clean clothes in paper bags with extra paper between the layers to keep them from getting wet.
