The setting by Pambar Lake is lovely, with a temple nearby, and the area has local restaurants and attractions within easy reach. It’s a simple, affordable base for relaxing and exploring Kanthalloor, especially for bachelors wanting to enjoy the scenery.
The staff were friendly, and there are arrangements for trekking and a campfire. This is a budget lodge in Kanthalloor, Marayoor, with a pretty pond to look out at.
The temple nearby plays music from 4 to 7 in the morning, loud enough to make the whole room vibrate. I couldn’t sleep after 4 AM, and the lack of rest could spoil your next day’s trip. The location itself is excellent, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There’s no mobile signal except BSNL. Wi-Fi only reaches the reception area, not the rooms.
We had a good stay, though there were ants on our mattress. The hotel has clean rooms and a great view. There’s no network or Wi-Fi, apparently because the property is in a forest reserve area with restrictions on wireless networks.
The staff provide very good service, and it’s a great hotel. Just keep in mind that Munnar is about two hours away by auto. The road trip is worth it if you have the time, but if your schedule is tight, stay in Munnar instead.
