The room was dirty, including the sheets and blanket, and the walls and ceiling were in poor, smelly condition. The tap, flush, fan regulator, bathroom door lock, and AC didn’t work, and there was no hot water or backup power during outages. The owner and staff behaved terribly. They only cleaned when guests weren’t in the room. Check-in and payment arrangements were odd, the room service didn’t match the tariff, and the hotel is far from the mandir.
It’s an old hotel, though it’s close to the main mandirs. Kala Bharav mandir is barely 400 metres away, and Viswanath Mandir is about a kilometre away.
I keep coming back here. The owner and staff are polite, the prices are reasonable, and it’s a great spot for visiting Kashi Vishwanath temple.
We booked two rooms for six people for two days at 3,200, and the manager agreed to that price. Nearly two days later, he claimed it covered only one day and demanded more. When we wouldn’t pay, he told us to leave at 11:30 pm with our luggage. We had to find another hotel for the night so we could rest before our train at 10:30 am the next day.
A great pick for a Banaras trip. The location is nice, and all the tourist spots are very close to the hotel.
