Hotel Midcity

The reception guy wouldn't respond to the issues we raised. We couldn't even get a bucket of water for three people, despite the washrooms looking like those in a 5 star hotel. The room had central AC, but it didn't work at all. I visited all 12 Jyotirlings, with kashi Vishwanath as my last, and unfortunately chose this hotel for two nights. I strictly Don't Recommend This Hotel For Stay At any cost!!!!!

The location was the main reason I'd suggest this place: it's central, roughly equidistant from important spots in Varanasi, easy to reach by taxi, auto, or rickshaw, and not tucked away in lanes. There are many restaurants nearby. I stayed for 2 nights 3 days with my father, and the staff were helpful, accommodating, and formidable. The room was clean when we arrived. The hotel is good for the price, and I'd book again if the bathroom improvements were made. The bathroom needs better basic design. There is no dry and wet separation, so bath water spreads across the floor and makes it slippery. There isn't a soap holder by the basin or in the bathing area, leaving nowhere comfortable for used soap; while bathing, you have to go all the way to the toilet seat area to put it back in the tray. The clothes hanger tray is too high for shorter people and awkwardly placed between the toilet and bathing area. Simple hooks behind the door would make it easier for everyone. After we asked, staff dried the floor after our baths, since otherwise it was slippery and risky. Toilet paper, a dental kit, extra towels, slippers, and water bottles aren't automatically provided each day, but staff bring them if requested. I booked without breakfast, then asked to buy it, but it wasn't available because of a group booking, so we ate at nearby hotels. The guide was good, and the location was close to temples and ghats.

The staff and owner were warm and helpful, and getting around was easy from this property on the main road. I had a great stay, with the ghats easy to reach.

I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, but this was the worst. There was no service at all, and they seemed to have no idea what hospitality means. They’ve opened a hotel just to make money. Never book here.
