Sonu welcomed me kindly even though I arrived very late at night, and showed me around at check-in. My stay at marigold felt super and like home the whole time. Over the next few days we went on some tours, had chai, and practiced yoga. I’d really recommend the sunrise boat tour.

We were right in the old city, in a perfect neighborhood, and the rooftop rooms Sonu gave us were really comfortable. The owner was very accommodating about our last-minute booking. We loved our stay at the Marigold Guesthouse and enjoyed the sunrise boat tour Sonu offered.

I only spent three days in Varanasi, but I miss it so much and would choose this guesthouse again. Its rooftop looks out toward the Ganga River, and it’s very close to the main ghat. The place is colorful, calm, and quiet, and the owner came across as kind-hearted from the start. He’s a guide and yoga teacher, and offers sunrise boat trips. I wouldn’t have wanted to take that boat ride with anyone else. Thanks, Rita

The rooms were clean, and the roof had a lovely view across the city and river. The owner was lovely and knew a lot about the city, answered all our questions, and took us on a boat tour.

Sonu is such a friendly host, and talking with him was a pleasure. He really made us feel like family. The simple, welcoming hotel also felt like home. Our room was clean, comfortable, and bright. There’s a terrace overlooking the Ganges where you can do yoga. The location is handy, close to great cafes, the Ganges, and shops, while still being on a quiet, peaceful street.
