The hotel was a terrible start to what was supposed to be an optimistic vacation for my family and me. Check-in dragged on while the reception staff were rude and disrespectful, which was especially hard on our older family members. Before we even got to the rooms, the mosquitoes around the hotel were unbearable. Our AC wouldn't start in Varanasi's near 40 degree heat, and mosquitoes were inside the room too. The repellent machines the staff provided had no fluid. When we asked for refills, they said mosquitoes don't bite. After a lot of arguing, they eventually gave us refills. Hot water seemed to be available for only about an hour a day, so we couldn't shower when we wanted. Towels took ages to arrive, and they insisted on one per room even when more than one person was staying there. The rooms were tiny, cramped, and poorly equipped, with peeling paint, dirty sheets, no fridge, an AC with a strange smell, no free wifi, few charging sockets, and dirty floors. There were no teabags or electric jugs either. The bathroom floor stayed wet, and the rooms had no ventilation. We spent the whole first evening asking and pleading with staff to make the rooms usable for the night. Their response was slow and passive, and the service was badly mismanaged. I had plenty more problems I could list, but this is enough to show how bad the hospitality was. The staff pressured us to post 5 star reviews despite the stay being a nightmare. Don't be fooled by the AI generated 5 star reviews. I'd rather stay in railway dormitories or on the road than here. Do not stay here.
