The rooms were spacious, clean, and well kept, with strong showers, and the place is right in the center. There’s a path to the Ghats just outside, about a minute away on foot. Varanasi prices tend to be higher than elsewhere in India, but I thought this was very good value and would happily recommend staying here. The owner is a polite, classy guy who’s easy to chat with. He was accommodating, shared useful advice about the city, and even exchanged money for us at the market rate, which really helped since we needed dollars for the Nepali visa. The only drawback was slow internet, though it seemed that way all over Varanasi. As he put it, put the phone down and enjoy the moment :p.

If you're into yoga, this guest house is right next to Satyaloka ( Ashram of Shri Shivendu Lahiri ji), known for Shri Shivendu Lahiri ji, a famous Kriya Yogi. It’s also very close to banaras Ghats. The manager and staff are cheerful and genuinely helpful, and the place has both a Husky and a Pug, which is a treat for dog lovers. The amenities were well looked after, including the Geyser and breakfast in the room. Prices stayed very reasonable even in peak season.

The manager is sincere and knows his stuff, and the staff were helpful. They can arrange a Ganga sunrise boat ride for 300rs/per head in 2016. The boatman was a very humble boy, around 13-14 years old. I’d taken another boat earlier and had a really bad experience, including sexual harassment and being asked for more money after the ride, so I strongly suggest asking the manager if you want to go out at sunrise. I had a very good stay here, with a nice room for a nice price.

The rooms were clean and had hot water continuously. The location is ideal, close to the ghats and the cafes tucked into the nearby lanes. Mr.Sanjiv is a great host who’s always willing to help, and the hospitality here won’t leave you disappointed.

Breakfast on the rooftop was both delicious and beautiful, with a view of the river. Sanjeev and the staff were so kind and helpful that the guesthouse felt like home. One of the most accommodating places we stayed in India, and where I’d choose to stay in Varanasi.
