There’s plenty to do if you feel like being social: daily table tennis, occasional parties or karaoke, plus yoga classes. The owner helps with anything you need, and communication before arrival was really good. They even arranged an airport pickup for a fair price. The rooms are spacious and nice, with a hot shower, A/C, and a comfortable bed, just minutes from the beach. Awesome place, and I’ll be back. 10/10, thanks for everything Rosh!!! 🥰

I felt completely at home at Happy Buddha. Rosham is a lovely host who puts on free social events for guests. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and modern, and the place is quiet while still being a short walk from the cliffs. Highly recommend it!

We stayed for 2 nights in the clean room, and it had all the amenities I needed. It was the budget stay we wanted near north cliff, and being able to get a 1 hour late checkout since the room was available helped us a lot. North Cliff was walkable, and the common room was a great place to hang out.

After a long train journey, I arrived at Happy Buddha and found that the room I'd booked, advertised with a private bathroom, was a ground-floor room with the bathroom across the corridor. They said it was an “external private bathroom,” but that wasn't mentioned in the reservation. I felt they were treating me as if I were naïve. I've traveled through India for many years and seen all kinds of unlikely situations. This is somewhere I'd avoid if I return to Varkala.

Happy Buddha has a positive vibe, especially if you're planning a staycation. The space is cool, calm, clean, and safe, particularly for solo female travelers. Roshan is thoughtful and very helpful. Thanks, Roshan, for making our stay comfortable and pleasant. If I come to Varkala again, I'll definitely consider staying at Roshan’s place.
