The staff went out of their way to help us when my partner left their phone somewhere at the auto stand near Varkala railway station. We asked the maintenance staff for help, and they acted quickly. Luckily, the phone was found within hours, saving us a lot of hassle. They were so kind and the service was really good. We also asked for a rental bike at the last minute, at 2 pm during check-in. They arranged one and had it brought to the resort. The price was standard compared with other rentals, and we could leave the bike at the resort when we left. We booked two nights in a Deluxe Sea view room. It was clean and attractive, with a clean bathroom and a comfortable bed. Sand Castle is right on Varkala’s northern cliff, in a great location. The view was lovely, especially the morning sound of the waves and the sunset. I was too busy watching the sunset to take a picture. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The hotel sits in the middle of the north cliff, so you’re just a walk from everything happening there. If you’re arriving by car, public parking is about 500 m away. There’s no guarantee of a space, though it’s a large lot, so hopefully you’ll find one. I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

Being close to North Cliff and its many cafés was a highlight. It was easy to find good food and enjoy the views. Sand Castle Varkala has a calm, peaceful feel that suited our stay, and the spacious rooms were comfortable and well maintained. It’s clean and relaxing, and a great option near the cliff for families or groups of friends. We had a fantastic stay and highly recommend it.

I was here in Nov 2025 and had also stayed at the same hotel in 2023. It’s right on the cliff, with easy access to the beach and cliff shops. The rooms were very clean and the staff were friendly. Great location. If you’re visiting varkala, consider staying here, you won’t regret it.

It’s on Varkala’s North cliff, with a beach view and a good spot to see the sunset. Shopping is easy from here, and there’s a tibetian restaurant next door where you can get good food. The rate was reasonable compared with other stays in the same area. Check-in is at 2pm and checkout at 11am.
