The Oceano

We stayed in the wooden room, and I thought the privacy and soundproofing could be better. The food menu could use some work too, since the setting and space have a lot of potential. Still, the service and view were lovely, and having a beach connection from the resort was really convenient. We had a very good stay and saw a beautiful sunset from the resort cliff 😍

Don’t be taken in by Ocianno’s marketing, which I found misleading. The view was only okay and the area was quite small. The bathrooms weren’t clean, and I saw ants and even reptiles inside. The lighting was poor enough that the place didn’t feel safe. They also asked for money when we arrived, which made me question their commitment to good service. I’d suggest checking reviews from people who have actually visited instead of relying on Instagram marketing.

The rooms had a nice Boho feel, were well maintained, and our balcony had a great view. The location is fabulous, with easy access to nearby cafes and restaurants and private access to the beach. It’s a nice stay in a very good part of Varkala. There’s no in-house restaurant. Breakfast was very average, with basic taste, so nearby cafes are a better bet for a good breakfast. Room service was good and the staff were helpful. We paid around 8k a night during Christmas week, which felt fair for the location and peak season. Book for the views and rooms, and enjoy walking to cafes like Sarwaa and Trip is life.

We picked this place because I’d wanted to try a swing for ages, and it didn’t disappoint. The swing is great, the view is amazing, especially at sunset, and the service was excellent with everything well managed. Having an in-house restaurant was really convenient too. It lived up to the hype and was a wonderful experience.
