The Cove Lakkidi

We spent three days at The Cove Lakkidi with our family and the staff helped make it comfortable, especially with children along. Mr. Salman promptly answered our calls and looked after our needs, including room service and housekeeping. Mr. Tej Bhai also gave us great support and hospitality. A peaceful, comfortable stay that I'd recommend to families.

The rooms were neat and clean, the pool was enjoyable and well maintained, and breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and made us feel comfortable, so the stay felt worth the money. Sajil deserves a special mention for being so helpful, offering excellent service and giving us ideas for nearby tourist places. The bathroom fittings need some maintenance, but overall we had a pleasant experience and I'd recommend the resort.

The valet parking means your vehicle is kept at another secure site. Since you need it for sightseeing, the wait can be inconvenient unless you plan with the property keeper. There isn't a restaurant on site, but they have a tie-up with winston chain of hotels and restaurants; order food and they deliver it, with cutlery provided by the property. There was a swimming pool under construction, though we weren't looking for one. The property keeper also shared sightseeing tips, and Lakkidi point, en ooru, adventure sports and honey museum are close by. We loved this place and felt like we'd stepped into another world. Staff were courteous, and the villa cottages had a black and grey stone, Harry potter Hogwarts style with wooden interiors that instantly won over my teenage sons. The interiors and baths were clean, with bunk beds and queen size beds, great forest machhan views, a stream of clean flowing water, changing cloud cover, a bonfire arrangement and outdoor dining if wanted. We definitely recommend staying here.

We paid 16.5k for one day and three rooms, with 8k paid in advance and the remaining 8.5k after arrival. It felt like a complete waste of money. The room locks didn't work, the bathrooms were cramped, the bed and room smelled, and the bedspreads and blankets were dirty. There was no AC remote and no proper hot water. Whenever we asked for anything, they made up stories, while the manager kept saying sorry. It's a beautiful property, but badly maintained and the dirtiest place I've seen. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
