Paras Mahal

We were there during Pongal, and the staff included us in the celebrations. It felt like visiting family, not just staying as guests. The backyard garden also gives the place a refreshing, almost resort-like feel. Paras Mahal is very close to VIT, so I’d recommend it to families visiting students there. The owner runs the property directly, which made the welcome feel personal. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The premises were secure, clean, and well maintained, and our room was cleaned every day. A warm, comfortable stay in Vellore.

For ₹5500, the “suite” was a terrible experience during our marriage stay. The bed and AC were the only things that worked well. The TV had no signal, the fridge didn’t work, and there was no proper hot water. We couldn’t use the bathtub or jets. The kettle and utensils were dirty, while bathroom fittings were coated in limescale and corrosion and clearly poorly maintained. Cleanliness and upkeep were far below what I’d expect from a suite. It felt neglected and unhygienic, and wasn’t worth even half the tariff. I wouldn’t recommend it without major improvements. It definitely didn’t meet suite standards.

We had a wonderful experience hosting our wedding reception at paras mahal. Mr. Abhay kumar managed everything very well, and there was plenty of parking. The hall and rooms were clean and comfortable, and we were treated with great kindness.

The premises were very dark at night and seemed haunted. The night staff were elderly, and the common washroom near reception was in workshop condition. There was no breakfast, not even tea, and no mineral water, only RO water. We had to go out ourselves to buy drinking bottles. Our washroom was small and dirty, with dirty buckets and a jug, and the shower was damaged. The towels were dirty too. Nobody was available to help. The AC remote didn’t work, so we moved the cells from the TV remote to get it running.
