Bay View Hotel

The location is excellent for a family holiday, with the main sightseeing places close by. From rooms on floor 4/5, you can get a splendid sea view. We had an amazing 3 nights stay, and all amenities were available. The only drawback was how understaffed they seemed. We could see employees literally fighting for breath amid the hard work. Still, I'd recommend booking a luxury stay.

We picked this place for its easy access to RK beach, just across the road. The front desk staff were courteous, and when we had a leaking bathroom drain, they fixed it within 10 mins. They also let us leave our luggage after checkout while we waited for our train. The beach view rooms looked awesome, but cost 1000 extra. Our room was clean, though there were some cracks in the walls, and it didn't seem like the floor was cleaned every day. Breakfast had good variety and was okay, but service felt messy: tables weren't cleared until you called, dosa orders got mixed up, and things ran out without being refilled until someone complained. The place could be really good if the kitchen and restaurant were better organized.

The room was cramped, and the reception staff were rude and unhelpful from check-in. The design was poor too, with a mirror on the bathroom door right at the entrance, and the faulty lock on that door felt unsafe and was frustrating. For my young kid, I asked to have breakfast brought to the room, but they refused most items and offered only idli. They treated the complimentary breakfast like a freebie, even though it's already included in the per-day room rate.

The location right in front of the beach gave us a scenic, panoramic sea view, and our rooms were comfortable. Service was average, but the people at the front office, Shiva & Mahesh, were gentle, polite, and guest centric. General Manager Mr. KV S Suresh Ji was outstanding and made the experience remarkable. We recently stayed at Bay View Hotel and would recommend others stay here.
