Hotel Rio Beach

The rooms and location are good, but the service is poor. The morning front desk staff member was arrogant and unhelpful. The lift wasn’t working at check-in, so we carried our luggage to the 5th floor without help. Staff even made fun of the situation. The “Buffet breakfast” is misleading, with the same limited items every day and even eggs restricted. There’s no in-house restaurant, and the food is average because it comes from outside. Basic requests take too long, and the hospitality was disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially for anyone traveling with elderly people. If you’re claustrophobic, think twice before booking. The rooms and bathrooms have no ventilation, and the fixed windows can’t be opened. Even in pleasant weather, you have to rely on the AC for air circulation. Unpleasant bathroom odors also spread into the room, making the stay quite uncomfortable.

The washrooms were poorly maintained, with shower heads and knobs that were dirty and clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. The AC was noisy and made for sleepless nights. The rooms don’t have smart TVs, just SITI cable, and the signal kept fluctuating, which made watching TV inconvenient. A few staff members, especially the incharge and security, were genuinely helpful and supportive. The afternoon front-desk lady and the night-shift staff were polite and courteous too, but most of the others weren’t welcoming or professional. Overall, I didn’t like the facility, especially considering what they charge.

The power went out at midnight, and I wasn’t moved to another room until 2.30 in the morning. By then my needs weren’t met, and I had vomiting and loose motions. The management spoke to me in a very dirty manner and behaved rudely. This is a very shady place. I booked online but only got a room after waiting for two hours. I went sightseeing, but these people wasted two days and one night, ruined the whole trip and wasted all my money. The management is third class and very dirty. Please give them extra money if you want, but never stay here.

The terrace was a favorite, great for getting together and having breakfast. Hotel Rio Beach is right by the beach, with a fantastic seascape view from the rooms. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, and the prices are very reasonable for the view and service. Fantastic for a relaxing stay, highly recommended.
