Hotel Santosh Dham

Deepak ji and the staff were courteous and very helpful throughout our two-night stay at Santosh Dham Vrindavan. Deepak ji even arranged cabs for our Barsana visit and for the Agra-Delhi drop. The rooms were clean and had adequate amenities. Food choices are limited, but what they serve is good quality. Breakfast was tasty and healthy, especially the parathas. It was completely value for money, and I highly recommend it for a family stay in Vrindavan.

The location is great, but the staff’s attitude needs work. We took rooms 204 and 205 on 13th April and asked for tea around 9:30 PM. They rudely said dinner time meant it wasn’t possible. We asked if they could make it after dinner, but they simply refused. The rooms were just okay, and the receptionist was arrogant too. They need to learn basic courtesy in hospitality. The hotel may be doing well because of the heavy footfall of devotees, but the staff really need to improve their attitude.

The hotel feels outdated, with mechanical locks and soap cakes instead of handwash. Breakfast was also a very limited spread, at most four or five dishes, with no salads, fruit, or juice. It’s on the outskirts, around 30-40 minutes from key places like baankey bihari temple and prem temple. The rooms are fairly large and clean, but the bathrooms are cramped. Also, all the food is cooked without onion and garlic, and the salad is the same.

The location is easy to find, right on the main road, and breakfast was a highlight. It was tasty, especially the freshly made parathas, puris, and bhature. My room felt spacious and luxurious, but the bathroom was cramped and uncomfortable for showering. The commode and hand flush weren’t clean, and the flush still had greenish stains even after I told the cleaner. I was also surprised that complimentary mineral water wasn’t provided. When I asked, I was told, “not in our hotel rooms,” which I didn’t understand. Most of the staff were polite and quick to help, though one receptionist was very arrogant.
