The receptionist said there was no booking in my name when I arrived to check in, even though I’d booked through ibibo and had confirmation. He offered me a room for Rs. 2300, while I’d booked it for rs. 1500. Drinking water wasn’t available; he offered water from the washbasin. The management is unprofessional and treats customers badly. Worst service.
The washrooms weren’t maintained properly, and the water was completely salty. There was no complimentary breakfast, even though a sign at reception said breakfast was complementary. They charged us 90rs for coffee, and believe me, it was 90% water and 10% coffee.
We booked at a set amount but were asked to pay an extra 500. After repeated calls and pleading with OYO customer services, the money was later refunded. The whole experience was very bad, with power cuts and no backup, and there wasn’t even a cupboard. The area is remote, with no nearby grocery or medical centres. Our room was a bit untidy, and the mattress felt as stiff as a floor. The water was a bit salty, and there seemed to be a sewage issue, with the drainage smelling like a pig house or worse. One of my worst OYO experiences, and I wouldn’t recommend staying at this place in vrindawan.
We finally had to pay in cash at a higher amount and stay because at 1.00 am morning I had no other option. It took around 20 days and a lot of struggle to get my refund from OYO. I’d prepaid this OYO ROOM booking through the paytm portal, but the hotel attendant refused to let me check in, saying they didn’t accept prepaid bookings. OYO ROOM customer care spoke to him and still the hotel wouldn’t allow it. Then an OYO executive said he’d move the booking to another nearby hotel, but put me on hold for about 1 hour and never came back. After I tried calling many times, another executive said no nearby property was vacant and told me to pay cash there. It was 11 PM Night, and I had no choice. The hotel was in terrible, filthy condition, under a flyover in a Jungle. A railway line ran right in front, near an open defecation area for slums, and pigs were roaming around. It seemed like the hotel, paytm, and OYO had some nexus to trap people and send them to the hotel to pay whatever they wanted in cash. Don’t book any hotel through OYO in advance, especially prepaid.
The staff had no manners, including the woman who spoke to clients. There weren’t any facilities either. Bad experience, please choose somewhere else. 🙅♂️
