Cranganor History Cafe Riverside Chateau

The calm lake view was the highlight of our stay at Cranganor History Cafe & Riverside Chateau. It made the place feel especially peaceful, and it’s a lovely spot to unwind and enjoy nature in Kochi. The rooms are thoughtfully designed and comfortable, the food was delicious, and the staff were humble and welcoming.

The water setup could be better. One of our riverfront rooms had no hand shower, pressure was low without a pump, and the small geysers made a steady supply of hot water less seamless. Still, we enjoyed our stay at Crangnor. We were six people in three rooms, and although the property isn’t very big, it was comfortable. The riverside location is superb, the staff were exceptionally warm and friendly, and the food was excellent. We’d definitely recommend it for the hospitality, food, and unbeatable location.

The setting is beautiful and the rooms are decent, but it felt a little expensive for this kind of property. October was very hot and humid, so be prepared for that. There aren’t many places to eat nearby, which means you end up using their restaurant. The food was decent, though quite pricey. We didn’t see the food prices until checkout, and that came as a shock. It’s obvious food brings in a lot of their money, but they should be transparent and put the prices on a menu.

We spent two nights and three days at Cranganor and were very well looked after. The food was delicious, with lots of options and hearty portions that had a home-cooked taste. We could order lunch after breakfast so it would be made fresh. Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and everything was kept very clean. The pool was pristine, and the Ayurvedic treatments were superb, with the massage ingredients prepared on site before each session. There was so much to do in the area. We’ll definitely come back with more friends and family. Thank you to everyone for such a lovely time.
