The Management was very helpful with arranging sightseeing, and the staff who were there were courteous and helpful. Still, the place needs drastic improvement across the board. When we arrived in the second week of April 17’, it seemed deserted, and the car park, corridors, steps, and reception were dirty and hadn't been cleaned. Our room closet was unclean, and the whole building smelled musty. After we complained, a boy cleaned the toilet, then we saw that same boy serving dinner. There was no proper restaurant, as the food was outsourced. It was average and expensive, and on one occasion the Idlis were stale. Staffing was rudimentary, without proper room boys or cleaning and housekeeping staff. Our morning bed tea came in cups and wasn't hot, with no flasks used. The bathroom electrical supply tripped whenever we switched on the water heater. TV was listed as an amenity, but two of the rooms we occupied had none.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were spacious and clean, with a nice view. Parking was available for 4-5 cars. Breakfast was idillis, which tasted okay, though the bed linens could have been cleaner. I hope the staff takes care of that. It was a nice stay overall, and I'd recommend the place.

The one thing we liked was the hotel's calm, good location in Vythiri. Otherwise, avoid it if you want to enjoy your stay in Wayanad. It's hard to find because there's no sign with the name, and there was no TV in our room despite the website listing one. The geyser didn't work, and when we reported it, the staff acted as if they couldn't understand us and did nothing to fix it. The staff were barely helpful and seemed not to understand any language, except maybe Malayalam. When we spoke Hindi or English, they acted like they couldn't understand a word. We had complimentary breakfast but opted out, since it seemed easier to eat elsewhere than explain what we wanted.

The peaceful location and relaxing view from the room were nice, and room service was okay. But service was very slow, the food tasted average, and there was no television. I felt there must be better cottages than this one.

The lobby has a cool mountain view, and since it had just opened, it was clean. There isn't an in-house restaurant, but they can arrange tasty food. The staff is small in number, yet the service was very good. There's a small river nearby and coffee farms close by. It's about an 8-minute walk to the main road and 15 minutes to the main bus stop. There isn't a big market, just a few shops and selected small restaurants. Vaytri resort is nearby, with lunch around Rs 900 per person, and some adventure options. Fine for a change of scene for one or two nights.
