Itsy Hotels Kurinji Stay Inn With Swimming Pool

The staff were genuinely polite and helpful, easily the best part of the stay. The rooms were roomy too, including the bathroom. But the sheets, blanket cover, sofa cover, other linen, and towels all had marks on them and needed replacing. Breakfast was another letdown. There’s no kitchen, so the food comes from outside, and the quality showed. The idly was bad, and the poorie had black oily patches, like it had been fried in old oil. They served tea but no coffee. I was close to giving four stars, but the Treebo soap gel and shampoo were very poor quality, strongly scented and so full of SLS that they left a slippery feel even after rinsing several times. A Rs. 5/- medimix or Mysore sandal soap like other hotels provide would be better. I don’t understand all the five-star ratings. For staff behaviour, five stars, but everything else was below average.

The rooms were decent, but the place didn’t look like the photos. The swimming pools were poorly kept, and there was no buffet as pictured, just food brought in from a nearby restaurant. It might be okay if the price is under 1800, but at more than that it isn’t worth it.

The room itself was clean and in good shape, and the bathroom had enough space. Staff were friendly and polite. The rest of the stay had several problems, though. Internet was very poor, and hot water depended on sunlight because it comes from a solar system. The reception was often unattended, so I had to call the number displayed to get help. Room assignments seemed random, with no planning ahead, and there was no welcome or send-off gesture. My booking confirmation said check-in at 1:00 pm, but the hotel said 12:00 pm. Breakfast was listed as 8:00 am - 10:30 am, while they actually served it from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Parking is open air and limited in space.

The rooms were clean and good, and the food service was hygienic. The pool was clean too. Room service and the way they interacted with guests felt like a five-star hotel. chandru was especially responsive and quick, and I liked how he handled things.
