There are a lot of things to like here: the food comes in good portions with decent variety and quality, mostly geared toward vegetarians, and the rooms are spacious with a pleasant feel. Shops, a lake, and a park are nearby. The manager, Mr Srikanth, gave personal attention, as did staff members Seeralan and Pakkiarani. The signboards also add an old-fashioned charm. Our PSBB 1976 batch came for our Golden Jubilee Reunion. The building needs work, especially for older guests. Broken tiles and uneven floors need fixing, and the steep stairs are hard to climb, particularly with luggage. There should also be more restrooms by the Conference Room. The internet was poor: Wi-Fi needs a stronger gateway, and mobile data signals often don't reach. In Room 120, water wouldn't come through the shower head. We were told it was fixed, but the problem remained. Some of the room details made the stay harder. In room # 118, the creaky metal beds made a racket and woke the other person whenever someone got up to use the toilet at night. The fans at the far ends of the room weren't useful. The single beds are narrow, suitable for kids but not even normally sized adults. Bedside reading lamps and charging outlets are needed too, since the old switches and sockets don't work well for mobile charging. The bathroom fittings and plumbing need an overhaul.

I stayed three days and really loved the setting. The rooms are beautifully designed in a classic British style and very well maintained. In the early morning, the birds whistling and humming were mind-blowing. The food was very nice too. One small suggestion: the old-fashioned switchboards look good, but some newer mobile chargers aren't compatible. More suitable charging options would help. I was otherwise delighted with the ambience and stay.

The pet-friendly setup was a big plus. You can take your pet or dog around the property, except into the restaurant. The staff were courteous and helpful, and breakfast was decent, with the food tasting good overall. The place itself is beautifully designed, close to Yercaud lake and the market. Our Victorian Suite was spacious and had lovely views. Room service adds 30% to every item. We were travelling with an infant and a dog, so getting to the restaurant for all three meals wasn't possible. They also have movie nights, with films played at really high volume in the evening. I found that irritating, since my infant had trouble sleeping. Still, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the food was tasty.

I love the antiques on display and took a closer look at their collapsible wooden Bar. The ambience is good too. I usually drop in for the restaurant, though with age catching up I can't eat as much as I used to. This time I had Chapattis with mutton rogan gosh. The gravy was so good I treated myself to another chappathi. I finished with a chocolate milk shake, which wasn't so good. My favourite, carrot 🥕 halwa, wasn't on the menu that day.

The New Year event was boring, and the food wasn't great. The heritage-style rooms weren't properly maintained: there were snails inside, the beds and blankets weren't clean, and there was dirt outside the room. They'd promised a camp fire, but it still wasn't arranged after several requests. The person who booked us had talked the place up, but it didn't live up to that. Overall, not a great stay and not worth what I paid.
