Laflora Paradise Residency

The resort is in a serene, well-located spot, and the rooms have good space, but the service was unpleasant. Our food orders were taken by phone and then conveniently forgotten, and room cleaning was an issue. There weren't proper towels, bedspreads, blankets, or toiletries, and the way customers were spoken to was poor. That's not what I expected from a resort rated 4.2 stars with several locations across southern India. Families may not find it suitable. If you only want to drink and don't care about service, you might be welcome here. The complimentary breakfast had been promised, but it turned into a miserable experience. We stayed in Room no :201 &202.

A decent countryside place with friendly hosting. The rooms are large and have balconies, and the bathroom was kept neat. There's room to park, though no dedicated parking area. The food was neither good nor bad, so keep expectations modest. The bed and linen weren't clean and need a lot of improvement.

Before booking, I suggest paying attention to reviewers who've covered several places in different cities. Otherwise you could be disappointed when you arrive. We were there for two nights with our family during the 2017 Christmas vacation, two adults and two kids. We got complimentary breakfast both days, plus lunch and dinner on the first day. We ate elsewhere on the second day for the reason mentioned below. Although we'd booked and stayed in frequent contact before arrival, our room wasn't ready. We waited while it was cleaned, and because the work was done at the last minute, the bedsheet, bedspread, and pillow cover hadn't been changed. We had to complain to get fresh ones. A bathroom issue also went unattended. The staff were polite, responsive, and helpful. We felt safe with the kids, and there was night security for vehicles. The room was big, with a large bathroom, a couple of chairs, a cupboard, a mirror, and a tiny balcony with a nice nature view. There was an individual water heater, room service, and plenty of parking in front. It's near Pagoda point. The room and extra beds were affordable after negotiating. Breakfast was included, though the quality was a problem. Wi-Fi was free, but see below. The bedsheets smelled so bad we couldn't keep them near our faces. Bathroom water came out very slowly, taking 20 minutes to fill a bucket. There wasn't anything to eat outside lunch and dinner, and the restaurant wasn't open between meals, so we drove a few kilometers just for tea. Food prices didn't match the quantity or quality, the restaurant water was too salty to drink, and there was no menu card, so the bill at checkout could be a surprise. The complimentary breakfast was a disaster and needs major improvement in both quality and selection. The hotel is far from the city center, with no shops nearby. Wi-Fi signal was effectively zero in rooms a couple of doors from reception. Airtel had no signal, though that's not the resort's fault; Vodafone and BSNL worked fine. It's okay for one night with family if you're on a budget and can put up with some shortcomings. Plan ahead for mobile and internet access.

We enjoyed the tasty complimentary breakfast, though the tea could be better. The staff were hospitable and parking was available. Our clean room had a small balcony that was especially nice at night. The blanket and bedsheet, however, weren't clean.
