Mango Hill Yercaud

The spa was a relaxing treat, and the restaurant was a highlight, the food was amazing. We went at the end of February and found the property peaceful, with well-maintained rooms and lovely views from its hilltop location. It would be nice if they added a short morning trek for a refreshing start to the day.

The service made this stay especially nice. Heavy fog made it hard to get around locally, but Vinod helped arrange a cake and other essentials. Abarna and the team added balloons and simple birthday decorations as a kind gesture. Chef Suraj Singh even prepared two dishes that weren’t on the menu, and Kanagvalli from housekeeping quickly contacted maintenance when a switch stopped working. The property has charming old French architecture and a relaxing balcony view. Breakfast was very good, especially the live counters where they cook fresh dishes. Caring staff and a pleasant stay, I’d visit again.

The setting is beautiful, with lovely views and a forest-like feel, and the rooms are large. But they have a rustic, old feel, and getting to the rooms and villas involves lots of walking and stairs. There’s no elevator anywhere, so I wouldn’t come with elderly parents. The food menu is very limited, and the restaurant has few seats. There’s no AC, which is a problem in peak summer when Yercaud gets very hot. The fans are at one end of the room and the bed is at the other.

Our room had a great view of the pool on one side and green estates on the other, and with some luck we even spotted a bison from inside. We were on the top floor of the three-storey building, where the terrace view was breathtaking. The weather was wonderfully pleasant, around 16-18°C, and the resort was clean, comfortable, and well located near the main area. Breakfast had a decent spread. One odd inconvenience in our junior suite was that there wasn’t a mirror. The automatic flush system could also use some improvement. Still, it was a very pleasant, peaceful getaway.
