Safavi

The room was beautiful, and breakfast had a good range of tasty items. We did have to wait an hour for the room to be ready after checking in at 1 PM. The other services were good, and the location was ideal for walking around the city and seeing its famous sites.

On my solo trip in 2024, the location was good and the receptionist was friendly, but the WiFi was bad. The room was clean and spacious, though a bit dated for my taste. I came back as a couple in 2025 and stayed in the new part, in a new room. The internet was still bad, and the smart plugs kept saying "wellcome to Safavi hotel" all night. Our double room felt overcrowded, with one double bed and one single. The bathroom smelled, and the trash bin was too small. The coffee at breakfast was extremely diluted. When I asked for a stronger one, staff told me to go to the coffee shop, even though I saw them generously using Nescaffe from the jar for themselves. They then offered to bring an espresso from the coffee shop upstairs, but it never arrived. The juice had no taste and was urine-colored, so I think they'd be better off not serving it. The rest of the food was good.

It was easy to get to, but the rooms weren't acceptable. The furniture was very old and uncomfortable, and the rooms could be much better. I also found a note in the refrigerator listing the prices of the items inside. Everyone knows hotel minibars are for purchase, so putting up a notice like that felt rude.

We stayed in December 2019 as a family of four in a quad room. A sliding door in a partition wall divided the sleeping area in half, which worked really well for us. The staff were super friendly, the rate was reasonable, and there was plenty to choose from at the fantastic breakfast. It's not the most modern place, but everything worked and the property was clean and well maintained. We could walk to interesting sights or catch a cab easily. We'd stay again.
