We paid 170€ for one night for two adults, which felt like very good value. The lift was often out of order, but otherwise getting around was accessible. Check-in was easy, the room lights all worked, and the Wi-Fi was fast. There was a fridge, kettle, TV, shower, bathtub, bath towels, and a high-quality mattress with extra pillows. There was no room service or toiletries beyond general hand soap in the shower, and the door used a key rather than electronic locking. We had reserved a twin room but were given a whole two-bedroom apartment. It was decent, though a little dated. Some rooms had a cellar-like smell, which seems fairly typical of older basement-style rooms. Breakfast was good, and the hotel has a restaurant. The area was very quiet, with a noise level of 0 out of 10. It's a good base for day trips to the northwest. We were traveling from southern Iceland and arrived later than expected; reception closes at 23:00, but staff were helpful and kept it open until we got there. The checklist minus signs mean something wasn't provided, not that it was bad.

A simple, nice hotel with the essentials. The room was small, with two single beds, and the bathroom was small but worked fine. The town's hot water shutdown was frustrating, though that wasn't the hotel's fault. The Wi-Fi was very poor, under 7 Mbps.

I arrived without a booking after 9 pm and found friendly staff there; they got me a room quickly. It was clean and spacious for a small European room with two beds. There was body wash in the shower, but no kitchen amenities. A classic European breakfast was included, and the drip coffee tasted good. I slept well.

Our flight was cancelled, so we stayed here for one night, and it turned out to be an amazing stay. The room was clean, warm, and comfortable. There were lots of people to get settled, but the two men at the front desk handled it promptly and stayed kind even when some guests were disrespectful. They even brought food late at night. They went above and beyond for everyone. I'd definitely stay here again if I return to Iceland.

The staff were welcoming and attentive, and the location made it easy to get to local sights and Iceland's beautiful landscapes. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with what we needed for a relaxing visit. A peaceful, enjoyable stay in Borgarnes. Highly recommend Hotel Borgarnes.
