Fossatún Camping Pods & cottages – Sleeping bag accommodation

The camping pods were really cozy and warm, and the hot tubs were so good. It’s a lovely quiet spot, with grocery stores about 15 minutes away, and I’d come again. I did have an unpleasant encounter during my shower, though. A cleaning man told me off for being there during cleaning time, which was until 4pm, even though it was already after 4. When I questioned him, he left without apologizing.

We had a cozy, comfortable stay in clean pods and even saw the Northern lights, which made it feel extra special. The area is great for hiking, and there’s also a Troll hike with a story along the route and interactive games. We enjoyed the stunning view over dinner and got to unwind in a hot tub. Would definitely recommend! ✨️

Seeing the lights here for the first time was unforgettable. The surrounding nature is stunning, with plenty of walking routes, including some that go up the mountain. There’s also a trail based on troll folklore, with games for kids and adults. The restaurant serves local food made with traditional recipes, and it was phenomenal. There’s a shared pod and a hot tub too. The pods themselves are small, but there’s too much to see outside to spend long indoors. 100% recommend!

The welcome was warm, and the clean pods were a nice place to stay. I was pleasantly surprised that both kitchens were fully equipped for cooking. Cleanliness does depend on what the other guests do, but it was great overall. The showers were limited, though, and that felt uncomfortable.
