The Hvita Inn by Ourhotels

The views were stunning, the building was lovely and warm, and the staff were lovely. The food was nice, though basic. We got snowed in, but they did everything they could to get us out, and we were on our way within an hour. I’d definitely stay again. We spent two nights here for a mini getaway. The modern rooms were clean and well maintained, and the showers had plenty of hot water and pressure. Our only criticism is that there were no tea or coffee facilities in the lodge rooms. That wouldn’t have been a problem in the main house, but with the really bad weather, just getting a drink became a big ordeal. That’s why I gave four stars instead of five.

We stayed in March 2025. Check-in was quick and easy, the room was clean, and breakfast was nice. The wind outside was very loud, and sometimes we could hear other people in the house, so the room wasn’t very quiet. I’d recommend bringing earplugs. Apart from that, it was fine and we enjoyed our stay.

We spent 3 nights in August 2025 and enjoyed exploring the area. There’s lots to do, and it felt less touristy since it isn’t on the Ring Road circuit. The inn has a beautiful setting. Construction around the site wasn’t finished yet, but our unit was perfect and we weren’t disturbed by any work during our stay. Breakfast was plentiful, the rooms were very comfortable, and check-in was easy with the door code sent by email.

The magical landscape looks beautiful from here, and the hotel is decorated with real care and attention to detail. Everything was very clean, and the staff were courteous and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. There’s everything a traveler needs, including a small kitchen in the hallway with a microwave, refrigerator, and kettle. Free coffee, tea, cocoa, and cookies were available all day. We’ll definitely come back!
