The views were stunning, and the building stayed lovely and warm. We had a great two-night mini break, with clean, modern rooms and hot showers with plenty of pressure. The food was lovely, though basic, and the staff did everything they could to get us out after we were snowed in. We were on our way within an hour. One thing that let the stay down: our lodge room had no tea or coffee facilities. In the awful weather, getting a drink meant quite an ordeal, though it wouldn't have been an issue from the main house. That's why I'm giving it four stars. I'd happily stay again.

We spent three nights here in August 2025 and enjoyed exploring the area. There was plenty to do, and it felt less touristy since it isn't on the Ring Road circuit. The inn has a beautiful setting. While construction across the site wasn't finished, our unit was perfect and we didn't notice any disruption. Breakfast was plentiful, the room was very comfortable, and check-in was simple with the door code sent by email.

We stayed in March 2025 and had a good visit. The room was clean, breakfast was nice, and check-in took hardly any time. It wasn't very peaceful, though. The wind outside got really loud, and at times we could hear other visitors in the house. I'd suggest bringing earplugs. Besides that, everything was fine and we enjoyed our stay.

We also couldn't get Wi-Fi in our room. When I mentioned it, the staff member said it was a reception issue and there was nothing she could do. So was I expected to use my own data for the next two days of our stay? The room issue added to an already awful experience at dinner. We ordered fish and chips at the cafe/ restaurant, but it arrived uncooked after we'd waited up to 30 minutes. It wasn't even very busy, and I understood the food was frozen, so the wait made little sense. We returned the plate, and staff offered another menu item or a fresh batch. We chose the replacement fish and chips. She did apologize, but I said a discount would help make up for the delay and serving raw food. Later, after I gave feedback to my guide, a staff member overheard and snapped, “We have already apologised many times.” The bill was ISK4400 for one portion of frozen fish and chips. When I asked once more about a discount, she said I was only paying for 1 share, they'd already apologized, and people make mistakes. Of course I should pay for one share, that's all I ate. I understand mistakes happen, but I still felt some discount was appropriate. We were served raw frozen fish, and I worried about the possibility of illness and needing hospital care at night in Iceland. I also worried about the risks from unclean raw fish, including parasitic, bacterial, or allergic reactions. Who would be responsible if something happened? I didn't take a photo because I thought I'd let it go if they offered a discount. My tour group mates saw what happened. We were staying at the hotel through our tour group, Trolls expedition, which apparently is affiliated with Our Hotels group. The dismissive response and attitude need to be taken seriously, especially in case someone else gets sick. Great service, huh. It was a lovely feeling to be on holiday. I'll write to the hotel and tour group and see what they say.

We were disappointed when the host refused a small refund. The listing said there'd be a hairdryer, but there wasn't one during our stay. The host admitted it was broken and offered no replacement or fix. My family member felt a little sick after discovering there was no dryer once he'd washed his hair. The room itself was clean, and the dining area was nice, with board games available.
