It's a good stay all around. The hosts are very kind and helpful, and breakfast is very good. The rooms are large, comfortable, well heated, and sparkling clean. Even in January, they have everything you need, and the hot tub is open. They really have that Icelandic kindness. We love this land and will come back.

We don't usually write reviews, but this place showed us what Iceland is all about. We got stuck here when a snowstorm closed the roads, and Omar and Margaret, the hotel owners, were welcoming and friendly from the start. During a difficult day, they went beyond what we expected, patiently answering our questions and helping reassure us. The location is great for hiking and other activities, with the hot springs of Vök nearby. While we waited for the weather to improve, we built a snowman. Omar saw us working on it, thought of the details, and brought carrots from the store. That small gesture showed how much he cares about this place and what they're building here. Thanks to them, we were able to make the most of the stormy day. Many thanks from Joana & Quentin. Warm regards.

I came here three times this summer, and check-in was a problem every time. Before each stay I emailed to say the rooms needed to be set up for two people, and they replied that everything would be ready. But on arrival, the receptionist said someone else had answered my email, so no room had been prepared for two. They had to sort it out then, and my clients weren't happy. On an earlier visit, breakfast started at 7:00. This time I arrived then and it was closed. Service began at 7:30, and nobody told me at check-in. We were in a hurry because of a bridge closure and only had 20 minutes to eat. The woman serving breakfast barely spoke English, and when I asked why it started at 7:30, all she said was, "NO INFO." I'm not satisfied with the staff communication. The hotel is in a perfect location and has nice rooms, but there's no heating. If you use the hot pot, you'll have to take your wet swimsuit home because there's nowhere to dry it.

After a long drive from Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, with snowy mountains, gravel roads, and rough terrain on the final stretch, arriving at Hótel Eyvindará felt like finding a hidden winter retreat. The snow-covered setting just outside Egilsstaðir is peaceful and forested, and the landscape made the rough ride worthwhile. Our room was warm, cozy, and clean, just what we needed after traveling. The staff were helpful and kind, and check-in was quick. Breakfast came with the room and was more satisfying than the paid breakfast we had at the Ion Adventure Hotel. Here, cappuccino and other drinks were included, while at Ion we were charged extra for a cappuccino. The spread had bread, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and more. It was handy to have the hotel's restaurant open until 9 PM. For other choices, the N1 gas station and restaurant in Egilsstaðir are about a seven-minute drive away. A welcoming, scenic stop in East Iceland, especially for anyone doing the Ring Road.

The cottage was cozy and we really enjoyed our night there, even though it was a little small, especially the bathroom. The heater whistled loudly at first, but worked very well. Everything felt a bit dated, but still nice. The guesthouse is tucked into a little forest just outside town, in an amazing location. We asked for an upgrade to a private cottage and the lovely, friendly reception staff arranged it for us.
