Lyngas Guesthouse

We had a quiet room, even though it was very close to the bathroom. The quad room felt a little small for our family of four, but the price was still good value. Check-in was self-serve, and the directions they sent were so clear that we had no trouble, though I can see how someone might be put off by there being no receptionist. There’s also a lovely little park and trail just three minutes away, handy if you’re travelling with kids. The guesthouse has a huge industrial kitchen and a spacious shared area.

The bathroom water has a sulfur smell, and there are only two bathrooms for the rooms on the floor below because of the column. Even early in the morning, that can be unpleasant. The hotel has the essentials, but a couple of things could be better, including having to leave your shoes at the entrance.

The bathrooms were decent, and the rooms were clean. Staff were kind, and the kitchen and common area were very, very nice.

I can see the building layout on the back of our door, and it’s clear we got the smallest room. There’s not even space to open our suitcases, and the room doesn’t seem fit for one person, let alone two. When I rang the camera doorbell to get in, I couldn’t help wondering if our race was why my boyfriend and I were put in such a small room.
