Viking Hotel

A great base for exploring the golden circle. The rooms were spacious and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast had a nice selection of continental food. We ate at the restaurant next door a couple of times, and everything tasted great. Fantastic stay.

The staff were really friendly and accommodating, and I'd stay again and recommend it. It's easy to reach lots of places from here, especially with children and a rental car. The breakfast was great, and the hot tub and sauna were cool. The cute theme includes turtles in the breakfast area. Parking is tight by the main entrance, with only a few spaces, but there's more if you go past the main entrance and take the next turn-in, behind the hotel restaurant. Our room got a bit stuffy since only one window opened, and just a little. It faced the traffic, so opening it meant hearing the cars. The shower and bath are combined, like a camper shower, and the floor stays wet and slippery. They provide a squeegee to push water toward the drain and a floor towel. Keep the bathroom door shut or the fire alarm will go off.

The night attendant was so friendly and helpful. We needed three beds, and she changed our room and came along to check it was okay. The rooms are modest but clean. The Viking theme is a bit much, almost like Disneyland, though there's a lovely koi pond at the entrance. I'd highly recommend it for the kind service.

Loved the bay view, and all the staff spoke fluent English. There are shops, places to eat, and good transport close by. The decor is great, with a Viking-themed restaurant nearby. The outdoor hot tub and sauna were lovely, and I liked having a cosy room to read in and a nice hot shower.
