Agnes was a lovely, welcoming host, and this was easily the best place we stayed on our trip. The guesthouse is tucked away from the main road, so it’s peaceful and scenic while still being conveniently close to things. Our room was spotless and comfortable, with thoughtful design details like heated floors and natural materials throughout. We were also grateful to have a washing machine during the trip.

We were traveling as a family of four with a two-year-old, so we worried a little about sharing a bathroom. There was never a wait, though, and it was always extremely clean. The shower was great, and I really loved our room. Everything was simple, spotless, and comfortable. Agnes made the stay special. She patiently showed us how everything worked, pointed out where things were, and shared lots of information about Iceland. She was also just fascinating and lovely to chat with. The other guests were nice too, which fit the welcoming feel of the place. Breakfast kept us full and had the basics, including toast, cereal, skyr, and very good coffee, plus things we hadn’t tried before. The sheep pate and homemade rhubarb jam were both delicious. The kitchen was lovely and had useful supplies like salt, pepper, oil, and a few spices, so making dinner was easy. There’s also a washing machine on site, which came in handy. There’s plenty to do nearby, and Agnes was helpful with suggestions. The price was excellent compared with other places in the area. This was the only place we stayed more than one night in Iceland, and I wish we’d spent the whole trip there. No real cons, though I felt odd listing all those positives without mentioning any.

Even though it was cold outside, the cabin stayed warm inside. You can tell they put a lot into the insulation. The host was really nice, and the rooms were comfortable with everything we needed. The shared bathroom and showers were modern and clean.

Agnes was wonderful, explaining the area and serving her homemade smoked mutton in such a calm way. We had a really nice experience and can’t recommend it enough.

Breakfast was plentiful and excellent quality. Agnes was a very kind and helpful host, and the guesthouse itself was clean, comfortable, and well equipped.
