There were quite a lot of flies, just so you know. The hot water from the tap and shower also has a sulfur smell, though cold water for drinking tastes fine. The property itself was beautiful, the rooms were clean, and the communal kitchen was a good size.

We had a good stay in this cozy, clean, and perfectly sufficient one-bedroom cottage, with a great view over the lake. The owners were quick to respond. Bring your own toiletries, though. The shower drained really slowly, and the WiFi didn’t work.

We got caught in a huge storm and all the roads were closed, but the hosts gave us shelter and were incredibly kind and welcoming in a tough situation. They really want guests to experience Iceland naturally and positively. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the place sits in a beautiful valley overlooking the bay. I highly recommend it if you want to see Iceland in its true colours.

The view was really beautiful, and the staff were friendly. The location near Djupivogur was good too, but unfortunately there wasn’t much else positive about my stay. Our room had over 100 flies when we arrived, the toilet smelled strange, and the rooms weren’t clean. The fly problem was very serious.
