Guesthouse Langafit

The beds were especially comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. It’s a distinctive guesthouse in a former gas station, with just four rooms and one shower, which wasn’t an issue for us. The host greeted us and showed us around. It’s close to the Ring Road, making it an easy stop, though it wasn’t too busy. I’ll remember this place. Most of the negative comments here seem to be about the campsite, not the guesthouse.

Coffee and homemade cakes are available, and customers can use the bathrooms. The old gas station service building is now a crafts shop and local curiosity museum, with a good range of knitwear, pullovers, caps, shawls, and other things. There are interesting rocks on display, plus a collection of Santa figures. It’s thoughtfully set up and clearly made with a lot of love and personal effort. A little dusty in places, maybe, but it’s a local highlight.

This was the worst place we’ve seen. I hope this helps someone avoid the same mistake. The whole site has one toilet, with no shower and no kitchen. There are only four electrical hookups, meaning four plug-ins, not four boxes. We planned our drive around this as our last stop and now have to find somewhere else for the night and pay for it. That part isn’t a big deal, but what’s the point of the camping card if all the included places suck? Do not recommend.

We used the campsite on 24/07/2022, and it was packed. There was only one toilet, and the shower was available from 10 to 18, then locked. There was no structure to the place, and the tents were so close around us that we struggled to get out. Wouldn’t recommend.
