Husafell Hotel

We came back to Hótel Húsafell for a second stay, and both visits were amazing. The rooms and hotel are cozy and comfortable, the staff are all friendly, and we really enjoyed the restaurant meals. They can arrange some great outings, too. We did the lava cave tour and the cannon baths, and loved both. The Northern Lights wake-up call also helped us catch the lights.

The restaurant was fantastic, and I wrote a separate review for it. The meal went well beyond what we expected. During our one night at Hotel Husafell, we found the room clean and equipped with the basics. It was handy to have a working window and a door leading outside when we went to see the Northern Lights. They’ll call during the night if the lights are visible. The hotel is a pretty little place about 90 minutes from Reykjavik, with a great location for tours. We took the Into the Glacier tour, and the pickup point was within walking distance. You can also walk to the Husafell stone and the historic "park" nearby. I wish we’d had another day or two for some of the other hikes. I’d absolutely stay here again.

We spent two nights here as a family and had a great time. The food was fantastic, the staff were very accommodating, and the pools were so relaxing. The activity center is just a two minute walk away. I highly recommend a stay here!

The check-in staff were pleasant, and the room was clean with an amazing bed. We had some of the best food in Iceland at the restaurant. I also love that they support local Icelandic businesses and promote sustainability. I’d definitely come back.
