Our flight ended up delayed by 12 hours, so we didn't reach the guesthouse until 04:30 in the morning. He was there waiting for us and showed us to our room, which was amazing hospitality. The place itself was great and handy for getting to the ferry to Hornstrandir. I'd stay again, though I'd hope to arrive in the afternoon next time.

The online photos didn't prepare us for how nice it was in person. The interior felt new and stylish, and our room was really cute, with plants and decorations around. There was also a laundry room, a fully remodeled kitchen, and a cozy living room with a big TV.

The location and value were both great, and the remodeled interior had lovely plants and decor. There was a TV, washing machine, and more. It turned out even better than we'd expected.

The location was good and the rooms were clean, but parking was limited and the room was much smaller than it looked in the photos. The steep, narrow stairs made carrying luggage a struggle, and the shared kitchen was dirty. The shower was partly broken, too. This is acceptable if you keep expectations low, but it wasn't good value: the price was only a little below an excellent hotel elsewhere in Iceland. At half the price I'd have given it three stars. For what a regular hotel costs, we expected more.

The bathroom could have been cleaner, which is why I gave it three stars. Also, the windows wouldn't open. Someone had used the toilet and left the door open, and the whole floor smelled awful with no way to let fresh air in. This is a youth hostel, definitely not a hotel, and that should be made clearer.
