The kitchen was a real plus, especially with grocery stores nearby, and the beds were comfortable. It’s a fairly basic place, but has enough amenities, and the price worked for me. The area is industrial and very quiet, with easy access to the main roads for trips around the south coast and Golden Circle. It also makes a good base for Reykjavik, Blue Lagoon, and the airport. I’d recommend it if you’re on a budget and expect to spend most of your time out exploring.

We found this place at a good price for Iceland during a 24-hour layover, and were really happy with it. The owner was friendly and shared useful local tips. Guests were sociable but considerate, and everyone respected the posted quiet hours and kept the kitchen spotless. The rooms were comfortable, there was a nice kitchen, and the location was handy for shopping.

The owner was so friendly and helpful, and having a kitchen meant we could make our own meals. Our room was clean and comfortable, especially for the price. It was definitely the right place for our Iceland vacation.

The airport location is the one thing this place has going for it. I stayed here two years ago and loved it, but this time it felt like a rip-off for the money. The place was dirty and so noisy I could even hear a plastic bag in another room. There’s no breakfast anymore, and the double bed was only 160cm, maybe less. My name wasn’t on the board, so I had to call the owner. Even though the place was almost empty, we were put right next to someone else and got woken at 4 am by their alarm. Booking had a last-minute offer at about 50% off, and at that rate it might have been OK. Paying double was just awful.
