Lux Apart

Lilly was really nice and patient with me, and answered all my questions. The hotel was modern and very clean. It’s only about 15 minutes by local bus to downtown Reykjavik. I really enjoyed staying here, just a wonderful hotel.

A Bonus supermarket is just around the corner, along with several good takeaway and fast-food places. Handy for avoiding some of the high food prices in central Reykjavic. The hotel is also new, well set up, well furnished, and well located. Getting around without a car took some figuring out. The information provided was sketchy, and this isn't a very touristy part of town. We found that bus No 2 or 4 stops about 800m away. You need to buy a 440ISK one-way ticket before boarding or use the Straeto app, since the driver has no change, and the bus goes to the Hlemmur terminus stop. The proprietor should give guests those details. More instructions on the light switches and coffee machine would help too. A very good stay overall, just could be more visitor friendly. Takk!

For our four-day layover in Reykjavik, we were very happy we picked Lux Apart. The studio was clean and modern, and they had arranged the two single beds as we requested. It was perfect for us, and we'll definitely stay there again on our next Iceland trip. Having a kitchenette with all the utensils and dinnerware was great. We could get groceries from the local Bonus, less than a five-minute walk away, or pastries and sandwiches from a coffeeshop under three minutes away. Downtown Reykjavik was about a ten-minute drive. The property is convenient by car, though walking to the city takes about an hour. We spoke briefly with the property manager and she was very nice. The place had everything we needed for a couple of nights, although the room was a tad small for three people.
